Principal Message

Venerable Mother Veronica of the passion the Founder of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation (1823 -1906) told her sisters “Always to be respectful to one another, be very humble and charitable, be always little and remain very small for there is always place for little ones”.

Inspired by the life and example of Mother Veronica the Apostolic Carmelite sisters reach out to the people, particularly the youth through education and faith formation in schools, colleges, welfare centers etc. by employing formal and non-formal techniques.

The Apostolic Carmel Congregation that pioneered women’s education along the West Coast has its origin in Bayonne, France, founded by Mother Veronica of the Passion in 1868. However it grew in India as an Indian Congregation after its establishment in India on 19^th November 1870. Over the past one hundred and fifty five years of its existence the institute has expanded with a large number of educational institutions in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Middle East and East Africa.

St. Mary’s PU College Falnir Mangalore is a Christian Minority Organization started in the year 2002 is managed by the Apostolic Carmel Sisters under the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society (R) for the total welfare of the people for promoting the cause of Education.

At the outset I welcome you to St. Mary’s institution with joy. It’s indeed a proud moment to the management, alumni, the staff and students and everyone who’s associated with us as we mark the silver jubilee of the foundation of the college. The college with a glorious history of 25 years is definitely an alma mater which all alumni look back to with fond memories.

The college premises are very conducive for students to learn, grow and spread their wings. Students are valued for their skills and abilities ensuring them with the holistic development. We promote a positive, creative college of environment and we strive to achieve it through a process of continuous improvement of teaching and learning. Our students are creative and talented, disciplined and motivated, determined and hardworking achieving success in their accomplishments. We also ensure high quality education that motivates and empowers the students to be lifelong learners and the productive members of the society. We expect all our students to achieve their full potential as our task is to make it possible and our mission is to provide a platform for the same.

The teaching faculty at St. Mary’s College are highly qualified and experienced educators who are committed to supporting each student’s learning experience through quality instruction and guidance that addresses the needs of the individual student. Teachers work to provide students with differentiated support that addresses each student’s specific needs both academically and socially. As per safety and protection the college does maximum to provide safety to students. The  college also initiates the activities that actively promote safe and healthy lifestyle and contribute effectively to sustainability and conservation of our environment.

We firmly believe that the parents are the students’ first and most important teachers. Parents play a vital role in the education of their children. We gladly welcome all our parents to take an active role in the education of their children and to be the active participants in our school life. Get to know the staff, especially the students’ teachers and assist where you can so that we can work together in the interests of everyone. I am eager to work with our parent community in supporting their children in their education. We always strive to build strong parent teacher relationship which is very important for the academic success of our students.

The parents are always welcome to discuss any concerns, questions, or ideas you may have regarding your child’s education. I welcome you all to an outstanding learning community where everyone is dedicated to a high standard of excellence.

 We are very sure that with the help of all the stakeholders and with their continuous support, we will be able to take our college to the next highest level of excellence. At our end, we shall continue working with you for the best interests of our beloved students and our community at large.
