ST MARY’S INSTITUTIONS – BLOOD DONATION CAMP

St Mary’s Institution organized one day blood donation camp in collaboration with the K.M.C hospital on 1st October 2023, commemorating the Bi-Centennial Birth anniversary celebration of Venerable Mother Veronica , the foundress of the Apostolic Carmel .The event aimed to promote the noble cause of voluntary blood donation.
The program commenced with a prayer song and prayer service by sisters of Apostolic Carmel congregation. A.K Jamal (vice president of the WAQF board) was the chief guest of the event. In his speech , he stressed on the importance of donating blood and also appreciated everyone for organising this camp for a noble cause. Sr Maria Kripa A.C the Superior, Heads of the campus Srs .Sahaya Mary A.C , Nandika A.C,Maisie A.C,Preema A.C and Dr. vishal, Dr. Dhanya, nurses and other paramedical personnel of K.M.C hospital were the dignitaries on the dais.
The camp was conducted in the High school premises. A systematic registration process was set up to streamline the flow of donors. The event started at 9.30 a.m. and continued till 1 p.m. . Donors filled out necessary forms and underwent a brief medical examination to ensure their eligibility for donation. Skilled medical professionals collected the blood and ensured a safe and sterile environment. All the faculty members of the institution volunteered throughout the camp to assist donors and provide information. A total of 64 unit of bloods were collected.
The event was a resounding success reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation. The program was welcomed by Sr.Shanthi Therese A.C and vote of thanks was proposed by Sr. Sahaya Mary.A.C.
