ST MARYS PUC – CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS 2023

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas program was celebrated on 22nd December in the college auditorium of St. Mary’s P.U College, Mangalore. The auditorium was beautifully decked up with Christmas tree and stars. All the students were dressed up in White, Red and Green coloured attires. The kannada primary students were the special invitees.

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by welcome speech given by the principal of the college, Sr Sahaya Mary. The program was graced by the presence of Rev.Fr.Rony Luvis, the chief guest of the occasion, Sr. Maria Preema – HM of the kannada primary and the staffs of kannada primary school. They were welcomed with a  bouquet  of flowers by Mrs Shyamala, lecturer in Mathematics and Mrs. Mamatha, Lecturer in English.

          The audiences were thrilled to witness the mesmerising dance performance by the primary students . They also entertained the audience with Christmas carols. The formal program began by escorting the dignitaries to the dias.Fr. Rony Luvis addressed the gathering with a picturesque tale which spread the message of caring and sharing. He also urged the students to inculcate the spirit of sharing with their families especially those who are less fortunate.

The cultural program started with a group of students singing Christmas carols and an informative and beautiful skit about Christmas and why it is celebrated ,depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ. Right from the conception of Mary to the birth of Jesus a harmonious story was displayed by the students. The students tapped their feet and danced gracefully to the melodious tunes of “Jingle Bells” and “We wish you a Merry Christmas”. The dazzling entry of Santa Claus added to the joy and excitement of the students. The celebration came to an end by distributing chocolates and gifts to the primary students.

The college Principal congratulated Mrs. Supriya, the co-ordinator of the programme and appreciated the efforts of students, encouraged team to experience the power of sharing and helping others .The bondless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all children.The programme was anchored by Ms .Rajeshwari of I Science and Vote of thanks was proposed by Teacher Mary.V of Kannada primary School.
