VAN MAHOTSAV DAY CELEBRATION 12th JULY 2022.
The annual Van mahotsav day was organised by St Mary’s English higher primary school on 12th July 2022 in the School Hall. Chief Guest for the day was Mr. U K Khalid, the chief administrative officer of SCS group of Institutions. The event began by invoking God’s blessing through a brief prayer service. The programme was put up by the students of class 5A. The students gave an influencing speech signifying the importance of trees for human beings. Several problems caused due to the loss of trees by various means such as deforestation, pollution and so on was highlighted through dance drama.
Tr. Renuka welcomed the Chief Guest, Headmistress and the gathering. To mark the day a sapling was planted by the chief guest and watered by our Headmistress.
A meaningful cultural programme on Saving the Environment was presented by the students.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Mr. U K Khalid expressed that God has created environment and human beings to stay in harmony with each other, but we ourselves have destroyed it. He also inspired to start drying the seeds of any fruits brought to their homes and to throw them in the barren land as they travel, so that many trees are grown. He also appreciated the efforts put up by the students in presenting a wonderful programme. Princita of class 5A proposed the vote of thanks. He also honoured Sharanya Kamath of class 7 who got the first place in drawing competition conducted by Vijaya Karnataka.
