STAFF’S ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024
An orientation programme was conducted for the faculty members of St Mary’s Institution on Friday 26th May 2023.The session began with prayer led by the lecturers of P.U College.The programme was compered by Mrs Mamatha Suvarna (Lecturer in English)and Mrs Shalet teacher from High School introduced and welcomed Sr Marie Prem D’souza. The resource person Sr Marie Prem D’souza was the former principal of St.Agnes college Mangaluru.
Sr Sahaya Mary,principal of P.U College welcomed her with a bouquet of Roses. Sr.Prem D’Souza addressed the gathering on the founding Mothers of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation and also stressed on the character building, determination and spirit of sacrifice was the topic at the beginning. She spoke about the charism, vision and mission of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, and of our founding Mothers , Mother Veronica, Marie Des Anges and Mother Aloysia.
The second session was enlightened by explaining the “Three-fold ideal of any graduate teacher”and also conducted a four minute Test which emphasized on concentration level of each and staff members. She urged everyone to focus on Three C’s of Life – CHOICE, CHANCES AND CHANGES….i.e “You must make the choice, in order to take the chance ,if you want anything to change in life”. She also stressed that all faculty members to become an effective teachers by accumulating knowledge and also motivated everyone with her words of wisdom. Teacher Shalini D’ souza from St Mary’s English Primary proposed the vote of thanks.
