ST MARY’S PUC – FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood and the influence of fathers in society.
“A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rule, shines with pride when you succeed and has faith in you even when you fail.”
St Mary’s P.U College, Mangalore celebrated Father’s Day on June 27th,2023 in the college auditorium, which was decorated with vibrant banners ,attractive charts and elegant backdrops. The seating arrangements were well organized ensuring optimal visibility and comfort for all the attendees. The program was organized to express gratitude towards their father for love and care shown towards their family.
The programme commenced with a prayer dance by the students of 2nd Science. A short cultural program was arranged by the students to show their love and affection towards the head of the family. Students performed various dances, group songs, spoke on the significance of the day and presented a skit based on the role of father in the family. Students hugged their father while offering rose,the reaction on each of their faces were priceless. Mrs. Shymala (Lecturer in Maths) addressed the gathering . The Chief Guest for the occasion Dr AK Jamal – Vice president of WAQF board was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by the College Principal Sr. Sahaya Mary. Sr Maria Kripa –Local Superior and Joint Secretary of St Mary’s Institution was welcomed by Mrs Vijayalashmi (Lecturer in Chemistry).
Mr. Jamal addressed the audience and asserted the importance of Father’s Day. He emphasized the parents to give some moral values, character building and financial knowledge to the students. He asked the students to respect and serve their parents. The college principal congratulated all the students for their active participation and also thanked Mrs. Shyamala and Mrs.Vijayalakshmi, who were the in charge of the program .Further she highlighted on all the rules and regulations of the college. Through PPT presentation, parents were given an insight of our college website by Mrs. Treeza (Lecturer in Computer Science).
The programme was compered by Zulaika Zuhen of 2nd Science and vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Thanujakshi (Lecturer in Economics).The program was concluded by the singing of the college anthem and serving everyone with refreshments.
