Celebrating Students’ Day at St. Mary’s PU College, Falnir, Mangaluru
St. Mary’s P.U. College, Falnir, Mangaluru, celebrated Students’ Day with great enthusiasm and joy. The programme was organised to create a memorable experience for the students and to strengthen the bond between teachers and students through meaningful activities and entertaining performances. The celebration began with a prayer and prayer service, invoking God’s blessings for the successful conduct of the programme and the well-being of all students. The programme featured a creative presentation incorporating a compass, books and backpacks, a plant, and cloth, symbolising the importance of guidance, education, growth, and the values that shape students’ lives. One of the highlights of the celebration was a beautiful Mohiniyattam performance, which captivated the audience with its graceful movements and traditional elegance. This was followed by a lively retro performance, taking everyone on a nostalgic journey through the charm of the past. The audience were enthralled witness a semi-classical dance performance on “Kaanta”, which added colour, rhythm, and energy to the celebration. An exciting part of the celebration was the series of fun-filled games conducted by Sr. Maria Gracilda , The College Principal. The games brought great enthusiasm, laughter, and active participation among the students. They provided an opportunity for the students to interact, enjoy themselves, and strengthen their bonds with one another. Sr. Maria Gracilda’s efforts added a lively and enjoyable touch to the celebration, making Students’ Day even more memorable. Another significant part of the programme was a drug awareness skit performed by the teachers for the students. Through this meaningful presentation, the students were made aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of making responsible choices, staying away from harmful influences, and leading a healthy life. The celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for teachers to showcase their talents and interact with students beyond the classroom.
