A NEW BEGINNING : PARENTS ORIENTATION AND ANNUAL PTM 2026-2027
On 18th July 2026 ,an orientation session for the parents and Annual parents teacher meeting was organized at St Mary’s PU college on emphasizing the importance of parents role in their child’s education and well-being .The program commenced by invoking the blessings of the Almighty , followed by the welcome note extended by Mrs. Chaitra,the Lecturer in Commerce. A graceful group dance was presented by the students which reflected the theme of building a positive connection between school, students and parents. Sr. Celine Veera A.C ,the Local Correspondent and the Joint Secretary of St. Mary’s Institution, Sr. Maria Gracilda , the College Principal and Mrs. Sharmila Sanil , a motivational speaker, Councilor and the Resource person for the program graced the occasion with their presence. Mrs. Sanil was welcomed by Sr. Gracilda with a potted plant as a token of respect and gratitude.
Mrs.Sharmila Sanil , addressed the gathering and insisted the parents to have conversation with their child. She urged the parents to be supportive, to stay involved with their child. She urged parents to spend some quality time with their child and also shared tips on good parenting. Mrs.Sanil also discussed the importance of punctuality and also drawbacks of social media and also stressed on healthy sleep and healthy lifestyles. She created an interactive environment that promoted collaboration and understanding between home and school.
Mrs.Vijayalakshmi, Lecturer in Chemistry provided a detailed overview of the academic curriculum as well as the co-scholastic activities ensuring parents were well informed about the academic year ahead.
Mrs.Shyamala ,Lecturer in Mathematics, intimated parents about the rules and regulations of the college. She oriented the parents on the areas of responsibility, punctuality and good health of the students.
Sr. Maria Gracilda, the college principal welcomed the parents and appreciated their presence to the program. In her address, she focused on building a strong relationship between college and home for the holistic development of students. They were briefed about the syllabus, exam patterns and importance of regular attendance. She also stressed on discipline, punctuality, uniform and moral values.
The programme was compered by Ms. Supriya ,Lecturer in Physics and vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Savitha ,Lecturer in Commerce .The program ended with the singing of the National Anthem and the Parents were served with refreshments . Later parents met their ward’s respective Class lecturer’s and Subject lecturer’s to discuss about the students’ performance and progress. Lecturer’s guided parents on how to support learning at home. Thus meeting ended on a positive note creating better understanding between parents and lecturers. The session was a resounding success highlighting the holistic and intellectual development of the student community.
