Green Day Celebration
The colour of Green symbolizes nature, life, growth, peace and spirituality. Green day (Van Mahotsava) was celebrated by the members of Eco – club of St. Mary’s P. U. College on 30th June 2022 in the college auditorium. Students and lecturers were all dressed in Green colour and also brought a sapling in order to take oath to save the nature.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by II year science students. Our honourable Chief Guest Mr. Manohar Shetty was welcomed with a flower plant by our Principal Sr. Sahaya Mary. The students enthralled the audience by a dance performance and very informative mime act which themed the importance of water and greenery. The Chief Guest appealed to the students to plant a tree. He further conspicuously focused on Global Warming, ban an plastic products and adverse effects of pollution in our environment.
Principal Sr Sahaya appreciated Mrs. Smitha Priya Karat (Eco –club coordinator) and students for their performance. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Khadija Khansa Aslam, student of II Science. Under the guidance of Principal & lecturers, everyone present in the auditorium took an oath and initiative to plant a tree, to save Mother Earth for better tomorrow.
