CELEBRATION OF TEACHERS DAY & NATIVITY OF BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
The Teachers’ Day and the Nativity of our Blessed Mother Mary was celebrated together on 5 September 2022 at St Mary’s P.U College. On 8 September while the Birthday of Mary is celebrated, the church invites all to honor the Girl child marks this day as the Girl Child Day. To celebrate this day, the staff and students offered flowers to Mother Mary in the convent chapel and prayed to her to guard and protect every girl child all over the world.
‘Teaching is the one profession that creates all other profession’. Every year on 5 September the birthday of Sri Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Second President of India is celebrated as Teachers’ Day by all the students and teachers across the country.
The students wished and greeted their Lecturers on this occasion. A formal programme was arranged for the Teachers by the First and Second Year students. The programme commenced with prayer service by the Second Year Science students followed by a cultural programme. As a part of entertainment students conducted some exciting games for the lecturers. All the lecturers and students enjoyed the programme. On behalf of all the staff members, Sister Sahaya Mary, Principal of the college expressed her gratitude to the students. The programme concluded with a lunch for all the staff members. It was indeed a memorable day.
